Direct Primary Care in Lone Tree, CO

If you're looking for a better experience from your primary care provider, Big Life welcomes you and your family to our practice. A cash-pay, membership model rather than an insurance-based fee approach, Big Life offers longer appointment times, same-day scheduling, telehealth options, advanced, in-clinic technologies, more thorough diagnostics, in-house lab draws, and 24-hour access to your provider to keep you out of the ER and Urgent Care. At Big Life, you’re known by name. We think you should expect more from your medical team.

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is quickly becoming a preferred alternative to conventional health care. In fact, the American Academy of Family Physicians reports, "DPC benefits patients by providing substantial savings and a greater degree of access to, and time with, physicians. DPC allows physicians to care for the whole person."

At Big Life, we take the Direct Primary Care model and enhance it further by offering a more natural approach to your family's therapies. We believe in root cause medicine, and we don’t take a “pills for ills” mentality. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to discover how an understanding of the body’s natural design and its interdependent systems, especially a focus on gut health, can improve your quality of life.

But what difference does it make? Why should you invest in a DPC healthcare membership at Big Life if you already have insurance?

Because America’s healthcare system is broken. It’s too heavily influenced by big pharma and mega-insurance conglomerates, rendering the average patient simply a number in a system meant to “move people along”. You can’t get in when you need to. You can’t get significant facetime with your provider. You can’t get answers to more than one question at a time. You can’t get med refills easily. And you certainly can’t determine which outside specialists you’ve been referred to are actually necessary. Authentic “primary care” has almost become a thing of the past – until now.

At Big Life, we came from those systems - and we have said, no more. We opened our doors to ensure we could provide the highest quality care, establish genuine connections with our patients, and practice integrative, more natural medicine that addresses mind, body, and soul.

Additional Information about Big Life’s DPC

As a member of Big Life's DPC, your general healthcare needs are covered. You will, however, want to carry a catastrophic insurance plan for life-threatening emergencies or hospitalizations and visits to specialty providers.

Direct Primary Care is actually a great option for patients with High Deductible (HDHP) insurance plans. HDHPs often require participants to pay out-of-pocket for all non-preventative medical needs anyway, making DPC's low monthly fee well-suited to ensure your health is prioritized without allowing unforeseen costs to break the bank. Your insurance carrier may allow you to file a claim for reimbursement for some or all of your DPC membership costs. Please consult with your carrier. It is the patient's responsibility to handle all correspondence with your carrier, although we are more than happy to provide any documentation you might need.

New DPC members commit to at least three months of care at Big Life but can cancel any time after that. Your membership with be cancelled the following calendar month. Do know, however, that if you cancel your DPC membership, you are not eligible to reenroll in our DPC services for a full calendar year after cancelation. Simply submit your request to cancel to our team at info@biglifecolorado.com.

DPC membership fees are not yet considered tax deductible, although conversation is underway at many government levels to make DPC more available to more citizens, so change might be Direct Primary Care (1).docx coming. In fact, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have announced
forthcoming DPC models as part of their effort to "deliver value-based transformation in primary care."

HSA funds are not allowed to be directed toward monthly DPC membership fees, but they can be used for things like prescription medications, vaccines, and other medical costs. This is under evaluation by government agencies, however, so stay tuned for positive changes in the future. FSA funds are allowed to be used for DPC membership fees and other medical costs at Big Life. Please reach out to your plan administrator for information about your specific allowances. In keeping with our more natural approach to healthcare, we do not provide artificial birth control medications, IUDs, or Nexplanon implantation in our clinic, although we are happy to remove any IUDs and provide alternative natural family planning counseling recommendations. Similarly, we do not perform or refer for abortions. A non-refundable Registration Fee will be collected at time of sign up in the amount of $65 / patient.

Big Life works hard to include as many of our services in the DPC membership as possible, but some specialty services or extraordinary labs may incur additional fees. These fees have been greatly reduced for DPC members.

Our DPC patients enjoy 24-hour access to our provider team, including on holidays and weekends. However, we do ask that our patients respect our providers’ family time by reserving routine needs like medication refills and general wellness questions for business hours. The team does not respond to non-urgent matters after business hours.
